Welcome to Oak Class

We are a mixed class of Year 5 and Year 6 children taught by Mrs Hulbert; Mrs Gunningham and Miss Lea help us with our learning.

This term we are learning all about Princes, Peasants and Pestilence.

We have some harvest mice in school to help us learn about the life cycles of mammals - please feel free to come and visit them.

We are learning how to blog safely.  Keeping safe on the internet is really important - remember not to share personal information online and to tell an adult if you are worried about anything.  Please visit our blog regularly and feel free to comment on any of the posts.

Home Learning

Home learning is due in each Monday and set again by Wednesday each week.  It consists of English and Maths learning tasks to support that week's learning, a weekly spelling list which helps to embed a spelling rule and some project work, set half-termly.  Please also read at least five times a week and record in your reading journal.  It is also important that you know all your tables.  If you do not already know these, please work on these daily to develop your understanding.

I can’t emphasise enough how important it is to know your times tables – multiplication and division. This is a good ( free) app. DK 10 mins a day

Please be mindful as to how important our trees our – an awful lot of paper will be needed to do everything, not to mention your time and printing costs!

Remember to use the internet safely, especially if you access the youtube links.

Just ask if you need any more information. We will be looking at different questions in school so do make a note of areas you are finding hard as we can focus on these.
